Volunteers are the backbone of any project of this type. The project's goal is to publish coordinates for every cemetery in the United States in a freely accessible database that is online for all genealogy researchers.

There are three types of volunteers, State Coordinators, County Coordinators and GeoGen™ data collectors. You can do one, two or all three if you so desire.

bulletState Coordinators are responsible for maintaining a state page with current links to all county pages, as well as reviewing county sites and working with the County Coordinators.
bulletState Coordinators are required to be subscribed to the SC forum at http://geogen.org/ggforum
bulletCounty Coordinators are responsible for maintaining a county page and working with the data collectors.
bulletGeoGen™ Data Collectors are responsible for gathering coordinate data and confirming its validity.

If you wish to volunteer as a State Coordinator, please see the Adopt a State page. If you wish to volunteer as a County Coordinator, locate the state you are interested in on the States page and contact that states SC. If you wish to volunteer as a GeoGen™ Data Collector,  locate the state you are interested in on the States page, then go to that state's county page and contact the County Coordinator.
