Noughts + Crosses
BBC1, 10.40pm
It’s series two of the drama based on the former children’s laureate Malorie Blackman’s bestselling novel series, which imagines an alternative world history in which white people live under the yoke of often brutal black oppressors. The first season followed the interracial couple — white, or “Nought”, Callum (Jack Rowan) and the privileged politician’s daughter and “Cross” Sephy (Masali Baduza), who found love in a divided community beset by racist government oppression. It concluded with them escaping together. Now this four-episode series promises to bring their tale of star-crossed love to a conclusion. The action opens with them in a lakeside retreat, at peace and kissing.
