COVID-19 Vaccine clinic appointments available in Fremont

FREMONT – Community Health Services (CHS) has first doses available of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in receiving the vaccine. The vaccines will be administered by appointment only, on Friday at the CHS Main Campus, 2221 Hayes Ave.

To schedule an appointment online, go to gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov, or call 419-334-3869 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and ask for the COVID-19 vaccine coordinator.

The Moderna vaccine is a two-dose vaccine. People receiving the first dose will be scheduled for a second dose 28 days from the first vaccine, which is May 7.  This vaccine is free.

Community Health, National Guard to administer second dose vaccines

FREMONT – Community Health Services (CHS) will partner with the Ohio National Guard to conduct a second dose COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Saturday at the health center’s main campus at 2221 Hayes Ave.

The clinic will be the second time the National Guard has come to CHS to provide vaccinations. On March 13, 300 first doses were administered, with about 15 members of the Ohio National Guard traveling to the area from all over Ohio, providing the injections and working with CHS staff on patient education.

Libraries to host genealogy presentation via Zoom

ELMORE – The Harris-Elmore Public Library and Genoa Branch Library will hold a webinar titled “Finding Records to Aid in Your Genealogy Research” presented by Eric Migdal of “It’s All Relative Genealogy LLC.” 

The one-hour presentation will cover some of the best places to find information and records for a family search. He will go over census, births, deaths, marriage records, etc,. and will highlight searches on Heritage Quest, Family Search, Fold 3, and Newspapers.com. He will also cover some of the most popular DNA testing companies and sources to find more information using those resources.
