Gina Wrather, a genetic genealogist, will speak to the Genealogical Society of Maury County Tennessee on Oct. 10 at the Maury County Archives, 201 E. 6th Street, Columbia.

Her presentation is titled “What Can DNA Testing Do for You?” to be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers.

Wrather is a genetic genealogist and Maury County resident with 20 years of genealogy experience, including over three years of experience in applying genetic genealogy to conventional genealogy research.

She is skilled with all major direct to consumer testing platforms (23andMe, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, Ancestry) as well as many other tools essential to genetic genealogy research.

Wrather’s accomplishments include assisting adoptees to identify birth families, identifying genetic disconnects in traditionally researched family trees to overcome “brick walls” and find missing relatives and collaborating with law enforcement to identify John and Jane Does.
