GREENSBORO — Laurie Plemons will discuss “Are You Doing Your Part? Are You Doing It Correctly?” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Caroline County Public Library’s Denton branch.
The Upper Shore Genealogical Society of Maryland will host this free event, which is open to the public.
Plemons will present information on current preservation methods and how to ensure the researcher’s work is passed on by using proper research and proof methods and best practices of organization.
The lecture will include a description of census records (the starting point for most researchers) and how to gather information from them. Plemons also talk about different DNA testing companies, what they test for and what they offer.
