LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Bode Technology have partnered to help law enforcement agencies speed up DNA-based police investigations.
LexisNexis Risk Solutions said Thursday under the partnership, its public safety special investigations unit will help agencies perform investigative analysis and surname searches using data from Bode Forensic Genealogy Service as well as identify and locate persons of interest for further research and questioning.
Bode FGS combines conventional genealogy with advanced DNA analysis, while the public safety SIU is composed of former law enforcement analysts and investigators who help analyze data already linked in LexisNexis’ Accurint Virtual Crime Center to identify the right individual during an investigation.
“We have created a unique relationship that matches DNA leads with hard-to-find information,” said Haywood Talcove, CEO, Government, LexisNexis Risk Solutions and LexisNexis Special Services. “This is the latest and greatest way to use data for good to quickly create a link chart showing connections based on shared addresses or crime reports to help law enforcement agencies bring justice to victims of violent crime.”
