MOORESVILLE, NC — In recent years, millions of Americans have become family tree detectives by taking a DNA test or logging onto online databases to trace ancestry.
The Mooresville Public Library is offering a class to help sleuth out details of genealogy, such as deciphering old handwriting and understanding the oddities of older documents, on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Here’s what Mooresville Public Library says about the event:
“Join us for tips on deciphering the terminology and handwriting in old manuscripts and other documents from ‘back in the day.’ After class, there will be time for more individualized attention and/or skill practice for those who desire it. Bring your own laptop or borrow one of ours.”
