United Way annual meeting today

The United Way of Union County will hold its Annual Meeting at 11:30 a.m. today at the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce.

United Way contributors are invited to attend the meeting. New members will be elected to the United Way Board of Directors and results of this year’s campaign will be announced.

SouthArk Board of Trustees to meet

The South Arkansas Community College Board of Trustees will meet today at 3:45 p.m. in Administration building’s Board Room #309.

Genealogical Society starting DNA discussions today

The Union County Genealogical Society will resume its DNA discussions at Barton Library today starting at 5:30 p.m. Mitochondria and Y testing will be discussed. Those who have tested are asked to share their story, and those with in-depth knowledge of DNA testing and results are welcome to share information.

Bridge Club open to new members

The Greater El Dorado Men’s Duplicate Bridge Club is open to new members. The group meets and plays once every month. The January game was held at Dr. Jim Seale’s home on Tuesday, Jan. 10. There was a three-way tie for first-place. Winners were Rodney Barnette, Mike Klun and Jim Seale. Those interested in the club can call 870-310-9659 for more information.
