SACRAMENTO – Members of the German Interest Group of the Inland Valley recently attended the second International German Genealogy Conference in Sacramento. Toni Perrone, Sandra Bourassa, Mary Ann Mericle, Jennifer Hamilton of Murrieta and Jean Wilcox Hibben represented the local German Interest group of researchers.

The International German Genealogy Partnership Conference represents organizations and volunteers from four continents and 30 U.S. cities. There were 80 presentations by 42 experts in an array of subjects from “Everything you know is wrong” to “Demystifying DNA.” The wealth of information provided an opportunity for discovery for the over 900 people who attended the convention.

The local German Interest Group of the Inland Valley was started in Murrieta by Toni Perrone and Mary Ann Mericle to provide a local area German ancestry genealogical study group, sharing information and expertise.

The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Murrieta The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family History Center, 24820 Las Brisas Road, in Murrieta.
